qcalc.org ("qCalc") provides this web application ("Service") for consumers and businesses. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any term, discontinue use immediately.

5. User-created calculators

You retain ownership of calculators and other content that you create and submit to qCalc. By submitting or making a calculator available through the Service, you grant qCalc the rights necessary to store, process, display, execute, and provide that calculator through the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring that your calculators and their content do not violate applicable laws or the rights of others.

6. Calculator code and execution

qCalc allows users to create calculators using Python code. You are responsible for the code you create, submit, or execute through the Service and for ensuring that it is appropriate and lawful.

You must not use calculator code to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, access another user's data, interfere with the operation of the Service, or perform other malicious or unauthorized activities.

7. Calculation disclaimer

qCalc provides calculators and computational tools for general informational and educational purposes. Calculations may contain errors, omissions, incorrect assumptions, or outdated information. You are responsible for independently verifying calculations and determining whether a calculator is appropriate for your particular purpose.

qCalc should not be relied upon as the sole basis for decisions involving safety, health, finance, engineering, legal matters, or other situations where incorrect calculations could result in significant loss or harm.

8. Intellectual property

The qCalc software is open-source and is made available under the MIT License. The rights granted by that license apply to the qCalc software and its source code.

You retain ownership of calculators, Python code, and other content that you create and submit to the Service. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your content to qCalc.

By submitting content to the Service, you grant qCalc a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, process, execute, display, and distribute that content as necessary to provide and operate the Service, including making calculators available to others when you choose to share or publish them.

You are responsible for ensuring that the content you submit to qCalc does not infringe the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party.

9. Privacy

16. Self-hosted installations

qCalc may be self-hosted by individuals or organizations. These Terms apply to the Service operated by qCalc at qcalc.org and do not govern independently operated self-hosted installations. Operators of self-hosted installations are responsible for their own deployment, security, data handling, user accounts, and applicable terms and policies.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws. By using the Service, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts to resolve any legal matters arising from these Terms or the use of the Service.

18. Partial invalidity

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will still be valid and enforceable.

19. Entire agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and qCalc regarding the use of the Service, superseding any prior agreements.
